Lord's Prayer covers basic and all-encompassing topics. These indexes really cover what God's Word says about prayer.

How much are you willing to devote to becoming a more effective "pray-er?"

Acts 6:4 "But we will devote ourselves to prayer, and to the ministry of the word."

Consider and meditate on "Our Father who art in heaven."

Why did Jesus begin here?

True prayer is nothing more and nothing less than communion with the Father. Worship, intercession, petition or thanksgiving are all directed toward the One Father.

Hebr 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please [Him], for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and [that] He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

How does Hebrews 11:6 compare with Jesus' opening precept/index on prayer?

Did you notice that Hebrews 11:6 begins with the statement "And without faith it is impossible to please Him"?

What is faith?

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of [things] hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Prayer begins with communication with a God Who, though not seen, is a "rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." Can you see then that the foundation, the fundamental truth of all prayer is faith in God?

What kind of God does Matthew 6:9 call Him? "Our Father"
